Instituto Arte na Escola resulted from institutionalization of the Art In School Project, which was created in 1989 by Fundação Iochpe. Its mission is to promote qualify educational art processes based on the premise that art education develops perceptive skills and the capacity for critical thinking in school students, and that it is not limited to self-expression and creativity.
